The anchoring method used to secure the a/c security cage is cruical to keep a unit from being stolen. After building and installing thousands of a/c security cages for homes and business, we designed a system that works no matter what type of surface your a/c unit is installed on.
All while allowing the caged to be easily and quickly unlocked and removed for when service or maintenance is needed.
Here are the types of anchors we use:
Ground Anchors
We auger a 40" deep pilot hole for the ground anchor to be hammered into the ground. The hole is filled with cement and the ground anchors driven past the concrete. The blades on the end provide even more anchoring power when attempted to be pulled out.
* Used for units on plastic pads, thin concrete pads, asphalt etc.
Concrete Anchors
We used a total of 6 concrete anchors for a combined rating of 6,600 lbs of pull out resistance. The fasteners are also protected from cutting by steel and concrete. The a/c cage is then locked to the concrete anchors on both sides of the cage.
*Used when the a/c unit is installed on a wide enough thick concrete foundation.

Cage Quailty
The cage design allows for most repairs and services to be done without removale of the cage. If the cage does need to be removed it can be quickly unlocked and easily removed from the anchors.
Our cages are not hollow like other cages. This allows the paint to cover all the surface area of the cage. This provides better corrosion protection and extends the life of the cage.
Hollow cages will rust from the inside out in a few years while our cage will give decades of protection.
Removable for Service
Our cages can simply be unlocked from the anchoring system and set to the side to give 100% full access to the entire a/c unit. The HVAC techs love feature. That makes thier job easier and faster which will help keep your cost for their service down.

However, stealing an entire a/c unit could get them $1000 or more! Now it is easy to see why A/C theft is such a growing problem.

A Security Cage Makes your ac unit a harder target. It requires the thief to have expensive steel cutting tools and then cut several steel bar which is going to make loud noise, draw attention and look suspesious. It also makes the thief take far more time to steal the unit. These factors will drasticlly increase the chance the thief will get noticed and caught. Theives want a fast and easy target.
